Danny Allcock, Yearsley Group’s resident bearded maintenance man decided to lose his signature look in the name of charity.
2015 sees Yearsley Group celebrate 60 years in business. To mark the occasion employees are helping raise £60,000 which will be divided between 4 national charities and local charities close to each of their 12 depots.
The head office based in Heywood, Manchester, is raising money for The Christie, who specialise in cancer care for those in the North West.
Danny, who has been lovingly growing and grooming his beard for nearly 18 months decided to sacrifice the beard after his mother and two very good friends were diagnosed with cancer this year. All were treated at The Christie hospital and have thankfully been given the all clear.
Danny said, ‘After cancer played such a huge part in my life this year I wanted to give back and do my bit to help. With the support of Yearsley Group (who will match all donations received) and Rockstar Barbers, Bury, it was time for the beard to come off.’
Managing director Harry Yearsley was on hand to lend his support and make the first cut.
Having received the hot towel cut throat shave, Danny not only lost his beloved beard but also looked about 10 years younger.
A big well done to Danny who has already raised more than £1,500 with more to come for The Christie.
